FAQs

During our 15-minute initial consultation, we’ll briefly discuss what led you to seek therapeutic support, your current struggles, and if my approach would meet your needs. If we determine we’d be a good fit, we’ll schedule an intake.
The intake will focus on gathering your personal history, and more deeply explore your current concerns and therapeutic goals.
Sessions thereon after will focus on furthering your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your past, along with creating a path forward. People tend to experience some relief in the first few sessions and consistent, sustained progress thereon after.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Our first session is a chance to share what’s bringing you in, ask questions, and experience what it’s like to work together.
Please complete the intake paperwork before our session so we can use our time to focus fully on you.
It can help to reflect briefly on what feels most important to address or what you hope will change through therapy. Jotting down a few notes or examples can be useful, but there’s no “right” way to prepare.
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. If you want to use out-of-network coverage, call the number on the back of your card to check your benefits. I can provide a monthly statement (superbill) for possible reimbursement.

Sessions are about 50 minutes in length.
I meet with patients weekly, a frequency shown by research to produce the most meaningful therapeutic progress. For those who would benefit from additional support or faster progress, we can discuss adding sessions or extending session length to best meet each patient’s needs.

The effort you put into therapy directly impacts the benefits you receive. To get the most out of your sessions, arrive on time and try to be as open and honest as possible in therapy. Additionally, practicing skills, engaging in self-reflection, and making notes of themes or concerns you want to address between sessions help further progress.
